In 2023, the cost, inclusive all taxes, for the registration and management of domain names within the Restena Foundation's registrar evolve. The reason for this is the temporary reduction in the VAT rate by one per cent. From 1 January to 31 December 2023, the VAT rate is 16% instead of 17%.
The fees payable in the year 2023 are as follows:

A domain name is a functional identifier that is unique, understandable, and memorable to and by human beings. It enables technical information to be obtained, such as the IP address of websites or electronic mailboxes, by asking a names server (DNS server).
Quarantine is the period of 30 days following the deletion of a domain name, during which no action is possible with respect to the domain name in question. Only restoration, and through this the re-registration of the domain name by its previous holder, is authorised during this period.
The VAT rate reduction is one of the measures to support household adopted by the government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to curb inflation, help households and businesses and promote and accelerate the energy and digital transition. It was decided in the context of the signing of the 'Solidaritéits Pak 2.0' agreement in September 2022 by the Luxembourg government, the Union des Entreprises Luxembourgeoises (UEL) and the workforce representatives, OGBL, CGFP and LCGB.
